I would like to see data/research on how instant access to grades via online gradebooks and LMS systems plays a role. Millennial teacher here who grew up without it, but I always notice the instant/constant access rarely comes up in discussions of grades.

That poem was a huge hit with my 11th graders!! Today when we were listening to the audiobook they were laughing out loud while reading and I swear, the sound of it fixed my little burnt out teacher heart.

I've recently shifted my thinking after hearing my students (I teach AP and Honors) when it comes to this. When they say they "don't have time" they do not. If I can't make "Free Read Friday" (one 45 min period to read) then I don't do Independent Reading. I wish more schools MADE time for reading.

Also, I'm in a data loving district so I would love to see how you set up your spreadsheet. Google sheets really pushes the limits of my imagination and skills. English majors, am I right?

I love this, and loved putting it together. I realized that as I was writing moves they could choose to make on future writing assignments, doing so forced me to think about my role in how to get them there.

Gross because I just got our library's old tables (and padded chairs!) and my students LOVE them.

This is a potentially big ask, but what do you require in your spiral set up?
