we have to bring TB into the discussion of climate change and climate change into TB programs. The vulnerabilities are shared. We should be designing interventions that improve resilience to both. A huge thank you to Matthew Saunders for his fantastic presentation at #UnionConf2025

Only I could go chasing hygge in Copenhagen, going so far as picking a cafe that bans laptops, and end up wedged between two groups discussing graduate school aspiration and professional resume building. I hear you universe, I’ll get my act together.

As I cook my camping breakfast over and open fire, I find myself reflecting on the millions of women who use indoor cookstoves daily for their food preparation. These stoves are a source of indoor air pollution, a risk factor for many diseases, including TB.

I think this means there should be absolutely no debate at my #SMDM25 presentation this afternoon, right?

Found a friend by the beach and he was eager to talk. Glad to see people not ashamed to discuss their opinions with strangers.

remember that even if it feels like the world is on fire and everything is upside down, you need to prioritize you and your mental health. Self care is more important than ever. You cannot light the path for others if you’ve burnt out.

Happy Easter weekend - happy to see that my Christian family is taking time to reflect on the lessons Christ taught and the sacrifice he made.

You’re going to see media coverage of the flooding in middle Tennessee and Nashville as “generational” or once in a life time events. I’m here to remind everyone that Nashville was literally underwater FIFTEEN YEARS ago (second picture.)

Our manuscript which estimated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on #TB in the United States was posted today on @cidjournal.bsky.social. We estimated increased TB cases and deaths through 2035 than a scenario assuming no pandemic. 🛟 doi.org/10.1093/cid/...

I’d argue we will only see change when profits start to fall for those who fund lobbyists who sway our officials more than their constituents. So choose to shop at stores that have upheld their DEI initiatives like Costco, Kroger, and others as outlined by @impact.bsky.social in the image below.

for context, the last time the STATE of Kansas reported this many cases over the period of an ENTIRE YEAR was 2006. this is an absolutely massive outbreak response effort. Public health is important and I hope we can hear more from CDC soon.
