To be honest, I think it was the 5 years that the Mets had no interest in. Everything else seems like conjecture.

It’s both a horrible way to operate a baseball team and a deal I’m okay with them not matching. But I dont think I’d go 5 years for Schwarber. 3 yrs at a slightly higher annual rate? Sure.

My issue is that the rankings were a farce. If Miami was better than ND, why did the committee not rank them that way? The NCAA created this mess. And I don’t blame teams for declining exhibition bowl games. Half the players opt out because they’re going to the draft or the transfer portal.

Feel a like a continuation of last year. The lack of progress is disappointing. I realize our best players were at their high school prom 2 years ago, but thus organization has done nothing to build around them.
