In over 20 years of teaching, I’ve never taught the race victim stuff he mentions, but have taught critical thinking skills, which he advocates. It’s almost as if he is talking bollocks to agitate people and spread discord.

Rejoining the E.U. and the Dublin Convention would stop them. Until that is possible, making people aware that Brexit sparked the small boat crossings would be helpful.

I wrote to my local MP, Labour’s Navendu Mishra, about my dismay at the government’s rhetoric around migrants. He wrote a nice letter back agreeing with me. We know the anti-migrant views will be loud and platformed. People with more progressive opinions should pressure MPs too.

A simplified explanation is that poorer people (most of us) can’t fund the tax necessary to make stuff work and that richer people refuse to pay the taxes that make stuff work, so most governments work on a credit basis, which is fine, so long as the future economy is bigger than the current economy
