This #NotJustBikes on the lasting affects of John Forester’s bike advocacy is worth watching. Yes, it’s 1.5 hours long and yes, it’s a bit of a Jason Slaughter screed. However it is still worth watching.

CalTrain’s new EMU’s are the best trains I’ve ever been on. Since I’ve only been on trains in the U.S. and IE, this is not surprising. Plus, it includes the original Acela.

Sadly @metrolosangeles.bsky.social was only running extra outbound trains. None were going inbound to The Sunny Bungalow.

I wonder if trains will still be running when I get off work in about 20 minutes

28 years ago today I wandered into 635 Mass Ave NW in DC, sat down at a console & started playing with buttons, knobs, & faders. Since no one yelled, “Hey, what are you doing there?” & they seem to need the help, I stayed.

It’s homecoming day for me! #MetroLA opened new #ALine stations that can now take me from the #SunnyBungalow to Pomona where I went to High School! Got 2 new #Severance podcasts & a nearly done Knitting project to accompany me along the way! Wish me luck as I start my first leg on the #Eline!

When you marry into a Yucatecan, family & acclimate to the Chiles in the cuisine, you get a sense of which to respect like Habanero or Thai Chiles and which ones to take lightly like pepperoncini. Then you make the stupid mistake of putting way too much Calabrian Chile into your pasta dish. #Ouch

After watching @nandert.bsky.social scintillating cut & cover follow-up, I wonder if a benefit to @metrolosangeles.bsky.social for having a less expensive, viable alternative to deep bore in the mix, might force the tunnel contractors to come down in price with their bids, even a little bit.
