@scott WhatsApp group messages *are* end-to-end encrypted. (Their whitepaper has more details, but it's using the Signal protocol and double ratchet to send encrypted messages to the group, with fanout delivery from the server.)

Maybe I postponed deleting my account out of some idle hope that one day a communications service could be dug out of the ashes of the hate-speech-promotion, but that was just a bit of nostalgic fantasy.
