Good one.

I remember seeing one back
In primary school (around 9-10yo) from 1904.

Also we should mention John Tyndall and his documentation of the greenhouse effect in 1859.

That's the thing though. There's a difference.

If i were going to kick that rock I'd ensure it was in fact a rock else I might break my foot.

It's OK for you to assume in your head and to yourself.

It's not ok to push those assumptions onto others.

I "Assume" you're smart enough to understand.

I'm my youth i was an anarchist, then socialist. I then very much resonated with the rights reasoning on fiscal responsibility but still with some social leanings. (I believe health and social care should be free for all).

Eventually settled on sorta centre. Lmao.

To call me leftist is reductive.

I'm very much a person that is a high critical thinker and I do a lot of thought experiments. And whilst not likely it is a possibility.

The old idiom about assumptions is "to assume is to make an Ass out of U and Me."

It's process is your assumption can cause offence that you didn't intend.

Why. Why didn't I think of that. XD

Oh no...

First he restricted knowledge...

Then spread misinformation...

Then removed funding to vital control systems...

Now he's removing the ability for free speech...

If it talks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably...

A Totalitarian Dictatorship.

I wouldn't call it a full conspiracy. More like a suspicion. And I love how you assume me as left straight away.

You know what they say about assumptions right???

Why is everyone acting like this isnt 100% trumps logic.

He want s himself and his cronies to be in power for good.

Dismantle the existing system. Push into economic reassession. Get the people riled that it's everyone else.

Reduce the capability of freespeech and information.

Sound familiar??

That is a point I hadn't considered. The smoothness of ux rather than speed of ui.

Android notoriously gets jittery and sluggish as it ages and pretty quickly too.
February 20, 2025 at 3:31 PM
This is what I've heard before.

I get the ecosystem part. If you have all apple devices then things like icloud and airdrop are great. But I never have understood the software argument. Especially on iPhone. Macs do some things better than windows. But what does ios doing things better than android
February 20, 2025 at 10:28 AM
I after all these years still do not get apple.

They have the greatest marketing team in existence I'm sure. They sell basically the same thing year on year and people buy it happily. Whereas they won't look at an android alternative that is vastly superior in most ways.
iPhone people.... why??

3 point backup always!.
February 9, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Shut it all down. Audit. And replace anything that cannot be ruled safe.

Sometimes this is fine and you lose nothing. Other times say goodbye to half the hardware.

Cracks fingers'. My time to shine.

Definate script kiddies. Was there once myself.

As soon as i saw the list I was like damn they didn't even recruit actual hackers. XD.

The UK happily has ex hackers on payroll.

Ok, they may or may not also have them by the balls for shit they've done in the past but that's besides the point.

The English after near on 2 decades of bs right wing cronyism...

First time....
February 4, 2025 at 9:46 AM
Oh totally. I have auto backups for my clients that request it and I always offer it.

Always 3 point backup.
Always encrypted.
Always automated.

However a lot of companies are not willing to pay the price for good cyber security until they've been breached and it's actually cost the stakeholders.

This 1.5 to 3 range was for older systems with much less ram.

Now a days. If you are running 32gb or above, pagefile gives diminishing returns. Yes it allows for more stored than used in ram but this actually isn't always good in modern systems.

LLM models hogging ram whilst not in use is not ok

Sounds like you got some shit IT staff bud.

A decent IT department will actually be a benefit to backup and security not a hindrance.

To think that avoiding the people trained to keep you and your data safe is a smart idea is worrying at best. Unis use hpcs managed by IT to improve security!.

Knew this was zen as soon as I saw move away from arc.

We all doing it for the same reasons at this point.

Privacy, security, the bs that is manifest v3.
