This has been one of the most alarming aspects of our current political climate - we are divided even in tragedy. Our future president calls American cities and states out by name as enemies. They revel in the heartbreak of other Americans they don't see eye to eye with politically.
And those same chucklefucks are incapable of showing the compassion that those affected need. Especially when calamities affect "them" - a concept which is entirely unamerican but which the political zeitgeist has allowed to become mainstream.

I've been trying to understand why I feel the particular flavor of distressed that I do right now. I think it's because we can no longer discuss the lessons we should be learning from any kind of disaster without the worst chucklefucks coming out of the woodwork to wreck everything.
