What kind of specialized server hardware is out there that the public doesn't have any access to? A quick search doesn't bring anything up, but you almost certainly know more than me on this one

If you have the time, can you elaborate on this? What's the general structure of your average match maker and how it connects to the server? Or how specifically you do it? What downloads are you referring to? Purpose of a Steam account?
