As an ex government employee I have seen the disasters that happen when there is no oversight and a company is allowed to do whatever they feel like without control. No company would be allowed to get away with this sort of budget overrun if it was a private company.

I don't think the USA is alone when it comes to self entitlement. Far too many governments are out of control and do not have the wishes of the people at heart.

I refuse to donate to any charity that has a paid CEO. So basically no so called charity gets my money.

My rule of thumb is someone tells me they are a Christian I will disengage and walk away as fast as I can.
