these were all so unique and interesting even if they weren’t for me personally. the shipping wait may be a downside for some, but i didn’t really mind. the brand includes a free sample which is extremely generous, and provides a great opportunity to try more of their incredible catalogue. :)

Private Eye - cocoa, coffee, pepper. like peppery hot chocolate, but also somehow not very sweet. very dusty, or even musty i suppose, this fragrance smells like peppery coffee-cocoa left in an antique store.

Farmhouse in Fall - initially very herbal and earthy, almost a bit sour. after looking at the notes, i feel i don’t get any of the sweet notes in the beginning, just get the herbal-esque notes in the second half.

Parlor Trick - warm bulb from Clue’s strange cousin. dusty, semi-sweet, spicy. i feel like i can’t pinpoint notes even when looking at them. the “faint rose” in this fragrance is more jammy than floral. the dry down is beautiful.

Crimson Sap & Sassafras - so sweet and spicy. the sassafras comes through strongly, in a black licorice sort of way that i can physically taste. it becomes fresh and clean on the dry down, like walking into a soap store.

Maplewood Inn - maple, woods, and chai. the chai is more of a spice note than a tea, but still very sweet and cozy, good for fall/winter. i could smell this one through the bottle.

Manor Fire - pleasant, warm, cozy, and sweet. almost churchy as i pick up an incense/smoky accord. such a comforting, sweet, and smoky fragrance. i’m genuinely in love with this and hope to get a bigger decant.. my favorite of the bunch.
