Life is like a plainflight, except we are the pilot. We begin as a passenger, with her Mom & Dad in the cockpit. They let us steer, and eventually take off, & we are suddenly on our own, flying, wishing we still had their guidance. #LifeLessons #decision

When a soldier returns from war, it is not the end of the story, it is just beginning. They don't fade away. Their lives continue. My Dad went on to become a college professor & taught doctors and nurses for 30 years, but the memories remained. #War #Soldiers #PTAD www.amazon.com/Some-Dads-St...

In school, we learned skills, but they never taught us about Surprise Bills, Credit Reports, Denial of Coverage by health insurance companies, the high cost of housing, HOAs, toxic workplaces, EEOC limitations, & the difference between municipal, county, state & federal government, etc. #school

My personal philosophy of life, based on being the son of a brave soldier who won four battle stars and a Purple Heart, is to never accept being a victim. "A victim begs for sympathy. A warrior finds a way to fight back. Be the warrior." I practice what I preach, each and every day.

Ignorance is warm pool with still water that does not even ripple in the wind. It feels great to sit in, never mind that the water is stagnant and full of toxins, and nothing lives there. #ignorance #knowledge

This is arguably the most poignant scene in the history of cinema because it cuts right to the core of human nature. If anyone doubts this premise, pay attention to what is going on right now in the world. The conflict between India & Pakistan says it all. #Mankind www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIEh...

This is not to say that Climate Change and the deterioration of global stability are not related. However, the real threat is our own destructive impulses. From toxic bosses to road rage, feuding neighbors to rival street gangs, we have not evolved a single rung on that ladder of social evolution

I've done a lot of research over the years concerning the forces that imperil our species. Here's the good news: We are less likely to be annihilated by climate change. The bad news: we are much more likely to self annihilate long before the worst impacts of climate change are felt. #Mankind

While reviewing and editing a novel I wrote several years ago, I came upon a tragic scene that shaped the life of one of my characters, reminding us all that our lives are often shaped by joy and sorrow. Keep that in mind before you judge someone who might not conform to your standards. #Life

For Superb Sunday: Sometimes, we hear a piece of music that is so beautiful it brings us to tears. It does not happen often and sadly for some, it never does. Here is "Rubicon" by Dwayne Ford. #Music #Greatmusic #Inspiration www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrCk...
