(2/2) "We can't give up, we can't give out, we can't give in." He’s asking us to remember his father’s message of standing up for hope, justice, and the end of oppression, today and every day.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this part from MLK’s Letters from Birmingham Jail; how so many “good” white people don’t want to think about race, don’t want to think about politics, don’t want to work for justice, and all the harm that negative peace has done

On this day, in 1929 (January 15), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born.
Unfortunately, we find ourselves in the same place Dr. King left us when he was assassinated on April 04, 1968. I’m sure that he would be saddened by the state of America, indeed, the state of the world, in 2026. (1/2)

It is Friday. Good day to you. After the week that we’ve all experienced, my hope is that we all find some peace in our lives this weekend.
The quote that I’ve attached is from George Orwell’s novel, “1984”. It reminds us that truth exists even when powerful forces try to erase it.

I have attached a quote from the amazing Maya Angelou. I find it uplifting, and it gives me direction for the coming New Year; I hope it does the same for you.

Happy Friday! Wow, what a week. I shared a poem with my team via Zoom this morning; my mom recited it for me MANY years ago. I got a little teary-eyed, but it’s a happy memory, and I enjoyed sharing it.

Happy Friday! I found something positive to say about winter in this quote from Henry David Thoreau: “What fire could ever equal the sunshine of a winter’s day?”
I hope you find some sun today and enjoy it. Have a great weekend! ☀️❄️❄️😎😊

Happy Friday! It’s a very cold day here in NYC. I hope everyone can stay warm, and no matter what the temperature is where you are, may this day be “… gentle and kind…” to you. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend! ❄️🧥🧤😍

I came across a post on Threads that reminded me that today is the 38th anniversary of James Baldwin's passing. My late mother was a devoted fan of his writing and admired him as a person. His relevance today is just as profound as it was during his lifetime. May he always rest in peace.

Happy Friday, everyone!
I spent 15 minutes playing with my neighbor, Loki, last evening. It was a wonderful 15 minutes; his tail was wagging, I was laughing, and my cats were jealously meowing from the window. The few minutes Loki and I spent together made us happy; it was important, it COUNTED.

It’s Friday, and I’m sure that most of us are happy about that! I felt angry and disappointed with people and their actions several times this week, but I’m going to let that go today. I’ll start with a nice hot cup of cocoa and take a walk as I admire the leaves.

Trump/Hegseth have removed memorial panels dedicated to African-American soldiers from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten. These men fought in World War II, not only against Nazi tyranny but also against racism within their own army.

Now back to the Epstein files! I'm angry with the "Dem 8" who caved; the ACA is gone! Republicans have achieved what they've wanted for 15 years: the death of the ACA. But you know what? Now the pressure is on Mike Johnson.

It’s Friday and Halloween! Here’s a joke for you: “Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and a Zombie all walk into a bar and...” Uh, let me think... Hmm, I’ve forgotten how this goes, but anyway, enjoy! 🎃🐈‍⬛👻

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.
