Pretty sure it would be more expensive if it was wireless. Making all that work remotely, in such a tiny package would be hard
Not to mention having to find a battery pack that lasts longer than 1.5 hours without being heavier than the headset <.<

Idk, my index controllers have a battery life of 7 hours, my longest ever VR session was 5, and being able to recharge in about an hour, im more than fine with using those
