I said nothing about differences being bad. I used a term that characterizes how someone who identifies with the straight, white male culture in this country justifies the marginalization of different voices.

🤦🏻 ‘Othering’ is a term used to negate, deflect, demean and otherwise disregard another human based simply on differences.
For example, I am often ‘othered’ because I do not adhere to the social norms of binary gender roles. I am othered because I am not white.

I think you are missing the point: when people lose confidence in the judicial process, tyrants and despots win.

I agree. Every city need to figure out how to resist. We have 3 examples of how cities are responding, though:
LA: We will fight you.
Chicago: We will fight you.
Portland, OR: We will subject you to endless hours of improv theater and interpretive dance until you relent and leave us alone.
LA: We will fight you.

Set aside your cultural preconceptions and your tools you use to manage your daily activities. Suspend your coping mechanisms. Think about how you would walk through the world without having to use these at the same intensity and frequency as you have to do now.

Language matters. What the OP is doing is using language to define what neuronormatives take for granted. Like putting a TENS machine on a guy and mimicking what menstrual cramps actually feel like … over 3-7 days, depending on one’s cycle.

That is not what the OP is doing. She is breaking it down on a linguistic level so’s NTs can better understand the rigidity of their own interactions with the world. For example, how an indigenous person might introduce a white person to their culture. That is what the OP is doing here.
