After the success of the first movie, a sequel was not really far off. With new threats and surprises, how well does this movie fare in comparison to the last one?

I will watch Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and share my thoughts and opinions in this thread🧵:

had. It's a bit more aggregious here since Vanessa has a bigger focus compared to the first one. And some other strange elements here and there make it so this movie isn't as smooth as it could be. However, I am satisfied and I look forward to the next installment.

it's fair share of problems within this movie's context.

Not everything is perfect though. I think Mike is a bit too jerkish at times, Abby's arc feels unresolved and the connection of Vanessa with a twist at the end is really underbaked, a problem that the last one also

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2025):

Opinion: Very good

I think this movie really improved over the original. The atmosphere is way better and there is a better sense of cohesion. The adaptation of 2's narrative and context is well done for the most part, even if it has

Three acts for this movie:

Act 1: Mike wishes to find a job but struggles with it
Act 2: Mike is hired at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, but things don't go as he expected
Act 3: Mike must protect his sister of the animatronics who wish her to become like them

point where it felt kind of unearned. But still, an enjoyable watch.

I like this movie and I'm eager to watch the sequel tomorrow.

is congruent with the games but it was not well developed. Mainly because Vanessa just goes and comes without not bringing much in each appearance other than a vague statement and a few assists here and there.

I also think that the resolution was a bit too simple, to the

and his quest to give his sister a better life while he tries to find his own brother. It's really compelling. Matpat goes brr.

But I do think this movie is really messy in terms of what it wishes to say. The dreams can get very reiterative at times.

The twist at the end

Five Nights at Freddy's (2023):

Opinion: Good

Certainly not perfect, but I still think it is enjoyable overall.

I think the general gigs of the story are very well adapted from the games, specially the suits and sets. They're incredible.

I also like the growth of Mike

A franchise known by it's mysteries and tragedy, soon arrived to the big screen. Now, with the recent release of the sequel, it was inevitable to come back to this one.

I will watch the 2023's movie of Five Nights at Freddy's and share my thoughts and opinions in this thread🧵:

Kishōtenketsu for this episode:

Ki: Lyserg and the others are hunted down
Sho: The X laws try to take down Hao
Ten: Yoh is killed
Ketsu: Yoh arrives to Hell to face his ancestor

down. Yohken Asakura and how Hell works were also really good. A complete meal just given in a really strange way.

really strange.

From there it works really well with all of it's elements: The Ghandara going after Yoh, and Yoh's death as a result; Lyserg realizing Yoh's words about hurting and being hurted, Hao's hidden sadness and the things the X-Laws are willing to do to take him

Episode 41 "Encounters in Hell" (S1x41):

Opinion: Excellent

The episode's main irk is that, to me, it feels like it has like 4 moments where it could end. I mean it in a structural sense, there are various instances where the episode could finish but it doesn't. It was

Kishōtenketsu for this episode:

Ki: Ren tries to decipher Gandhara team's technique
Shō: Ren and the others explore their new training
Ten: Horohoro snaps with his full strenght
Ketsu: People understand Horohoro's truth nature

truth nature of Horohoro. Those bits were really cool and I enjoyed the whole bit of his hidden nature.

Episode 40 "Humility" (S1x40):

Opinion: Very good

This was a really fun one. The pacing did feel strong but I still think the themes and exploration of Ren, Chocolove and Horohoro definetely helped to make this feel more cohesive.

I specially like the bits with the truth

Kishōtenketsu for this episode:

Ki: Yoh and Lyserg prepare to fight
Shō: Lyserg begins to do Yoh's plan to get Luchist's attention
Ten: Jeanne stops Marco of killing himself
Ketsu: Yoh and the others try to figure out the next rounds of the tournament
December 4, 2025 at 2:49 AM
good. I liked Jeanne's twist of being just a normal girl that got put as a goddess as a form of lie for the X-Laws and the way they can try to defeat Hao

Episode 39 "The Summit" (S1x39):

Opinion: Good

This episode in particular has a really bad sense of pacing. Some stuff of the fight felt extremely rushed, the X-laws dissolving felt very abrupt and some conversations felt like they dragged but the content on itself was

Kishōtenketsu for this episode:

Ki: A servant of Hao contacts Yoh's group
Shō: Yoh wonders about himself and his position on things
Ten: Yoh shows his truth intentions to Marco
Ketsu: The founder of the X-laws appears
December 4, 2025 at 2:48 AM
I also appreciate the world building of the X-laws, with the founder of that organization working under Hao and making Marco feel 'small' in more ways than one. That works well.

I do think this episode could streamline a few things.
