Executive Order 9066 allowed the forced removal and incarceration of 120,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry. They had to abandon their jobs, their homes, and their lives. They were sent to one of ten concentration camps scattered in desolate, remote regions of America.

February 19th The Day of Remembrance - Japanese American Incarceration. On this day in 1942, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which gave the U.S. Military the authority to remove civilians from in Washington, Oregon, and California during WWII.
