That's not what you said. You said that South Korea was a functioning democracy. It isn't. It is deeply corrupt. Whether it's more or less functional than the US is something subjective you can decide for yourself, but I'd recommend not making assumptions based on a single piece of the puzzle.

I just don't think y'all know enough about South Korean politics to make sweeping statements like this, but you do you. It's not like a population that makes quick assumptions based on a lack of a solid education on international politics has ever elected a demagogue before.

It's not what about ism. It's more just correcting an objectively stupid statement. America is broken, and fantasizing about another, arguably more broken, culture's government is not going to fix it.
