Was at Oasis last night. What an experience. Knowing mates back home have gone to see them, and then to get the same experience a few weeks after felt really special. Half the world away, but not feeling so during the gig.

I was at South Melbourne v Sydney Olympic tonight, for the inaugural game of the Australian Championship. Match review video to come soon on you tube.

Off work for a bit of a rest and took to some art, including this watercolour.

And a win for Ricky Hatton too. Very sad. RIP Hitman

Champions League is back this week. There’s my three favourite badges from this years participants:

Well that’s the most Melbourne of days done. NGV, bit of time in Collingwood (after navigating protests in the city), all polished off with a winter stout, as the names on the can, before a hike tomorrow for the first day of spring.

Many of the leagues around Europe are back this weekend. A throwback to when I visited Panathinaikos (shot on 35mm camera) 🧵

Watched the pens with the 3yo. She’s getting it.

Also that France kit is lit. Yes, it looks like it got mixed in with a red sock, but I’m here for it.

Another run.

Guirassy hadn’t been aware either. Either? So someone else also wasn’t aware Jobe had picked his second yellow? Where’s that referenced in the article? Long and short…Dortmund and Jobe Bellingham don’t know the rules. So he won’t face Real….and that’s news apparently.
July 4, 2025 at 2:39 PM
And then it happened….Jobe Bellingham was convinced to join Dortmund as he’d face his brother. Then he got a suspension and it warrants an article apparently.

What is ‘it’? Them playing together or against each other? Apparently they were slated to play for Dortmund together. Jobe was linked a while back but plenty of people would have forgotten that.

It is so very hard to read, with any kind of rhythm, a Sid Lowe article. Very passionate about Spanish football but too cute about it. Has a conversation with himself that is hard to follow.

Home from Athens. What a trip.

Great craft beer scene in Athens. Sadly didn’t make it up to enjoy Plaka’s offerings but samples a few in Koukakis. Edgy area, maybe yet to be (re)gentrified. Not quite yet a Shoreditch or a Collingwood, but could be.

Managed just a mile. 1/26 of the original marathon. I’m going to take it, in +30 degree heat and off the back of 12 days in the sun holidaying.

Continuing my scenic run per month. And this was a highlight. The birthplace of the modern Olympics.

I’m at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens. Exhibition is about animals, which is educating and confronting. Football has also had its mention in the exhibit. You can read about it here animals.emst.gr/en/artist/ja...

Fabulous holiday reading. Written as Glenn Hoddle was to take over from El Tel (with Sven apparently about to take over at Ewood on a million quid a week).
June 25, 2025 at 6:46 PM
Just last half way in the holiday, and ticked one box. Flea market for fake shirts. Picked up the two on the left. Still hoping for a trip to local club AO Chania before the week is out.

Watched my first Club World Cup game. Why are kids TV presenters doing the player interviews?
