Hi mom :P

- not voting bc you hate the phrase "lesser of two evils" is a bonkers and incredibly shortsighted way to behave in the rise of fascism

Anyway that's my soapbox. If you don't like it, cope 💖 (9/9)

- if you don't think you personally would be impacted by Trump, a) you're probably wrong and b) WHO CARES? Protect your community. All of it.
- never let the DNC forget that "I'm not the other guy" and "I'm a woman" lose elections without actual platforms that any rando can understand

So as we plummet into another four-year nightmare from which some of us will never wake up, I am once again reminding you of the following:

- elections are not likeability contests
- protest votes do not work; fight for ranked-choice instead
- fascism is bad and you should vote against it

Harris is far from perfect; I dislike her immensely and would have concerns about trans rights and prison reform under her administration. But she was unlikely to start wars, destroy healthcare and welfare, or deport legal citizens en masse. But some of y'all didn't vote bc you didn't like her. (6/)

All this to say: in six days, we will once again be living under a dangerous far-right madman and his wildly unqualified cabinet. There's every chance he'll get to pick another Supreme Court judge. Immigration, healthcare, and welfare are about to go to shit. And some of y'all just didn't vote. (5/)

I will also say that, like most leftists, I was deeply furious when Biden became the candidate in the 2020 run. This isn't coming from someone who has had any great love for him in the past few cycles. But I'm big enough to admit that I was wrong. So should we all be. (4/)

No president is perfect; I'm not here to say that we should forget Biden's failings and missteps. What I WILL say is that he exceeded expectations and acted repeatedly on an issue that most of his party intentionally avoids, and that if he were taking a second term, who knows what he would do? (3/)

To be perfectly frank with you all, I had no expectation of this whatsoever when he took office, because a) he was a moderate anyway and b) he had vocally expressed his disdain for the idea. However, I have for once been pleasantly surprised by a president, as he's spent his term doing this. (2/)
