What is the Vegan Greens’ Veganuary Challenge? The Vegan Greens’ Veganuary Challenge is a 31-day challenge that encourages the Greens to try vegan for the month of January. It’s a simple ask: challenge yourselves to try a plant-based diet for one month, with a huge payoff! Why take part? Start the year by reducing your carbon footprint, eating healthy, learning new recipes, and making new friends (vegans don’t bite!) There’s so much to look forward to! Jan 1st: Meet your vegan buddy & start your journey Jan 7th: Myth Busting with Emily Angus(Dietician at the Vegan Society). Find out how vegans get their protein, eat well, and do it all on a budget. Jan 14th: Jordi Casamitjana (vegan activist and author) will give a talk on his latest book “Why Vegans Don’t” and take questions from the attendees. Jan 19th: Dr Shireen Kassam (Founder of the Plant Based Health Professionals) will answer your burning questions on staying healthy on a vegan diet. Oppose Reform UK and the Far Right On Saturday, 13 September, 150,000 attended Tommy Robinson’s far-right rally in London. This should act as as a wake-up call for our movement. In our Region Reform UK now fully controls Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire county councils and they are riding high in the opinion polls. They oppose: ● improved sick pay for workers ● legal protections to stop bosses sacking workers on the spot if they don’t accept poverty pay. ● Net-zero policies seeking to reverse climate change Reform and the Far Right are NOT friends of workers. Reform UK and the far-right whip up division using racism. They want to WRECK THE NHS and will make us pay insurance to private companies instead of getting free healthcare when we need it. Reform UK plans to cut £50 billion from the NHS, social care and education and like the rest of the far right they blame migrants, not billionaires, for under funding in our public services. But Reform UK’s progress could be halted by a mobilised trade union movement fighting against racism and for progressive policies based on progressive taxation: ● Rebuild the NHS ● Build Council Houses ● Stop ALL the benefit cuts ● End the 2 child benefit cap ● Defend human rights, workers rights, LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights! Asylum seekers, migrants and refugees are not to blame for the cost of living crisis or NHS waiting times. In fact, without migrant workers the NHS and many other vital services could collapse. We say, unite all workers to fight for a better world for all. Yesterday was a monumental day for Nottingham and the Green Party. Through the efforts of our Green Councillor Shuguftah Quddoos and Party Activist Animah , as well as countless others, a motion to Boycott, Divest, and Sanction Israel has been passed uncontested.

We'll be there, will you? We're standing with the Unions to Save our Services across Nottingham. We stand in solidarity - No more cuts, no more job losses, the taxpayer simply cannot take more of this.

NOTTINGHAM SAVE OUR SERVICES (SOS) Nottingham Save our Service City-wide meeting. Wednesday 29th October, 7:15PM-8:45PM. YMCA International Community Centre, 61b Mansfield Road, Nottingham, NG1 3FN. Come to our meeting to discuss the council's latest budget proposals, the reduction of funding for parts of Adult Social Care support, the ending of the school holiday voucher scheme, the continued failure to open Sherwood library, the undermining of our Community Centres, increased charges and any other council cuts. Despite the council's public hype of how well they are doing, the reality is different for residents. The council's paperwork admits that increases in core funding with predominantly come from council tax. They talk about 'redefining their service offer,' meaning offering less than before. They continue to refuse to fight for the necessary funds to provide much needed services. No cuts. No job losses. No increases charges to compensate for government underfunding.

On Monday 4th August, members of the Nottingham Green Party joined others to protest outside Labour MP Alex Norris' office. We will always call out those who are enabling the genocide in Gaza, and will not stop until Palestine is free.
