Jan 10th 1947, Finian's Rainbow came to Broadway with a clunky, but unequivocal message condemning racial prejudice. With Burton Lane's music & Yip Harburg's lyrics, if you can forgive the clumsiness of the attempt to admonish racism, you'll find one of the best scores in musical theatre history.

Jan 10th 1947, Finian's Rainbow came to Broadway with a clunky, but unequivocal message condemning racial prejudice. With Burton Lane's music & Yip Harburg's lyrics, if you can forgive the clumsiness of the attempt to admonish racism, you'll find one of the best scores in musical theatre history.
January 5, 1975, The Wiz opened at the Majestic Theatre on Broadway for a total of 1,672 performances. It was nominated for 8 Tonys, and won 7. A long-awaited revival is headed to Broadway in March 2024 - would somebody buy me a ticket (and a plane ticket) please!
