As we have seen in the Chicago area, the ICE/CBP tactics are massively unpopular even with more typically disengaged folks. Wouldn't be shocked if the same is true in NC. Good luck, Whatley.

Reminds me of a friend's mom w/dementia; early in the disease she kept buying things that had pineapples on them. When I helped clean out her house after she moved into care, there were countless pineapple-themed items. Likely they were familiar/comforting as she deteriorated.
