My friend & artist @leighwalls.bsky.social sent me some inked sketches back in 2020 on 3x5 index cards & I finally laminated & put some on my wall near my workspace for inspiration. They are some of my treasured pieces. Leigh’s inks are some of the best I’ve seen & I hope we’ll collab again soon.

I think my red and orange Canna lilies cross pollinated and created a hybrid (photo 1&2) I’m seeing not far from them. I’m no plant expert, so I’m not sure, but it has characteristics of both. 🌱

It’s a bit messy right now, but here’s almost 20 years in the making in building my tiny cozy workspace. I’ll do a small tour someday soon.

This is the prettiest Canna Lily I’ve grown so far. Going to make sure to harvest the seeds in the fall. 🌱

We went 160ft underground to Luray Caverns in VA. It felt like being on another planet. Went for my youngest birthday, since she loves exploring. It was a fascinating experience.

I’m reading this book and goodness gracious, times have NOT changed. I see why politicians and the press chose to pacify the public with his Dream speech, but the contents of this book is what made folks mad. He didn’t just dream but had tangible plans. That’s what frightens the powers that be.

I was surprised to find out the book Bill Watterson released earlier this year was a picture book with John Kascht. I’m always happy when artists are free to create what they want on their own terms.

I’m so proud of this little grape vine. My wife bought it during the pandemic to give us something to do. Since then I’ve been fighting with deer, squirrels and caterpillars eating leaves or digging it up. But after 5 years it’s actually making ripe red grapes. So glad I didn’t give up. 🌱

My lemon and cinnamon produced so much this year. I guess I’ll be sure to use them as companion plants since the bugs and rodents aren’t even trying to chew them up like my other plants. 🌱

Saw this book in a bargain bin for $2 and had to pick it up. I loved this book so much as a child. Something about Steven Kellogg’s art was so mesmerizing to me.

Planted a bunch of rainbow carrots at the beginning of the year. This is the only one that made it. Will do a better job protecting them next year. 🌱

I have a habit of letting plants I can’t identify grow to see what they become and I’m pleasantly surprised that this thorny plant was growing me blackberries! 🌱

My garden is quickly turning into the flower multiplying mechanism in Animal Crossing. I received an orange Canna Lily as a gift 2 years ago and now I have 15 growing! For size reference, I’m 6ft tall and the tallest one is taller than me. 🌱
