You're right - definitely near the smokestack, though I think it's unlikely that a modern factory would retain such an old kiln and attach a smokestack to it. Maybe it's just outside the building, kept for decorative purposes? (More details on the image in the alt text)

Latest update on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT: it's being held up by a Tesla that decided to try out the tracks just east of Wynford Drive.

This line is cursed!

This sign at Eglinton station feels true.

The TTC's Bay Lower station is famously a relic of the past, but the posters on the walls of the upper station (the one that's still in use) are also a throwback

When illiterate people write signs, pedestrians have questions.

Several years ago they removed the shelter at this bus stop for construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT. This past week they started installing a new one, shortly(?) before it becomes less important when the LRT stop about 10m away opens. #fail

In the East Don River about a km upstream of the forks, there's a rock in the river with some sort of plaque on it. Approximate location shown in this image. Anyone know what's up with that? Dunno what the plaque says - too far from shore.

I know exactly what voice you heard this sign in.

Oh, I dunno - the freshies didn't try to kill me when I swam there 😆

When I was out yesterday morning, the other fan coil unit (with a dumb, non-programmable thermostat) was effectively controlling the temperature. It keeps the temperature so much steadier. Ecobee usually overshoots by .5-1C, sometimes by 2C.

Nope - it's one of the new Siemens trainsets!

High speed trains? Not in Canada.

I hope this isn't my train home!

That tail! I've had five cats, one of them super fluffy, but sadly none have made it that far. Here's my current girl, Nera.

Here's Don Mills looking toward downtown. Worse than two years ago today, not as bad as late June 2023.

It looks like they missed some spots.

Even the stairs at Toronto's Old City Hall are fancy!

And perhaps next time it's part of Doors Open, whoever makes up the list of participating sites won't describe this building as "Gothic."

Same!

So fluffy! One of my previous cats was a small cat inside a big pile of fluff.

Aww, poor kitty. Hope they're feeling better soon.

Here's mine, taken in late April on the one year anniversary of adopting her.

It looks pretty good for a building that was absolutely filthy in the middle of the last century (as everything was in coal-powered Toronto) and nearly burned down after that.

According to the Weather Network's app, going outside this afternoon will have a low risk of causing me to develop arthritis.
