I canceled plans to visit the US to go to my best friend’s son’s wedding which I’d hoped to do his whole life, because I am disgusted with what’s going on there and worried about getting through without this kind of nonsense. (And all theTSA firings etc). I don’t have the heart to tell her why.

They are anti-university. They don’t want free thinkers and any research that is shared openly is worthless to them. Everything must be controlled, owned and monetised.
