I spent the last week sick, ruminating on the year. It was truly messed up, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t have its ups. I lost a lot, but gained twice as much. So, I’m choosing to believe that 2025 will be infinitely better— better than this past year, which somehow was worse than 2020, when the world stood still.

Is it now a trend for me to swallow my truths whole? I often think of speaking them— but judgment paralyzes. How can I share these fragments when others carry heavier loads? I know, superficially, you cannot compare pain. Yet mine feels so insignificant, like a whisper in a storm. It’s ridiculous to be upset when I know the fantasy isn’t real. Its ache almost laughable— why despair over the unreal? I know it’s because uncertainty feels safer than what the real world might hold.
