Where I'm from, our grandparents had numbers tattooed on their arms.
I didn't understand what my grandfather who taught me how to sing to the birds had done that was so bad to get sent away.
As a Christian man, he didn't know either.

Yey! I did these with my daughter this morning. Surprised myself to learn that I remember what I last learned....in 1997 - and the memories unlocked- when I took Chem 102 for engineers that year I believe the prof said and I quote, "we have to make it easy for you people" 🤣
