I mean, framing LLMs in terms of error rates and expected values lets their utility be quantified in a way that can be put into investor slideshows to justify not using them, and I’d argue that’s a very useful use case

Ever since Josh Johnson aired that special about Deepseek, whenever a new AI story breaks, I’ve been tracking how much the person using the AI wanted a friend vs a slave. I’m starting to think this chart needs a new axis, because this is way darker than my other friend datapoints

Trump was impeached during ‘business as usual’, so congress’s incentive structure produced predictable party-line behavior. The more unstable Trump makes things, the riskier and less reliable those incentives get, and it only takes a few defectors

From the exasperation, I was interpreting Maru’s stance was something like ‘A game with only one element consisting of dating is not a dating sim’ - it was the implied absolute I was responding to, not the textual one. Def possible I unintentionally strawmanned though

Most of us aren't, we're just gerrymandered and failed by our representatives. The ones who are opposed typically lived through the cold war and got hit with metric tons of propaganda telling them the government using tax money to help people is evil communism.
