I think Sliwa, like most NYers, is sick of politicians who don’t bother or are too afraid to just walk around and talk to people. Bloomberg heavily leaned on the “he rides the subway to work!” shtick to look like a normal person and it worked more than it should have.

Lmao, a rent stabilized 3BR I was splitting with roommates in Washington heights around 2017-19 was jacked up from 2800 to 4k after all of us left. Rents haven’t risen as a result of the FARE act and 3k is awful for a rent stabilized 1BR in Astoria. This landlord is just being a landlord.

Do you live in NYC? I think fundraising transparency mighr hit more here than it does elsewhere and the reason for that $$$ is kind of obvious.

I’ve always lived in NY neighborhoods considered “safe” or low priority for the Democratic Party (majority Latino, low income, liberal etc) and thus completely ignored. Canvassers for Mamdani are the first to ever knock on my door AND I’m in Astoria. I voted for you on the Working Families line 💪

Nobody is actually upset, at least in NYC where no one cares about family technicalities. Most of my cousins are 15-25 years older than I am and my aunts & uncles never lived in America so I thought my cousins were my aunts/uncles growing up and I still call them that.

One example is the Kristi Noem video about the gov shutdown that some airports are refusing to air due to a potential Hatch Act violation; the US gov accounts are here to post propaganda. I just mute them all instead of blocking though.

Sorry I'm not terminally online and don't know what this means (or check follower counts period)

New Yorkers did not forget the DNC fuckery around the 2016 Democratic primary due to Bernie's popularity in Clinton's home state. That legacy is one reason Mamdani won.

Thanks for reminding everyone that submitting an empty ballot in the 2024 presidential primary cost nothing because the DNC shut out all other candidates. Couldn’t risk letting voters choose someone other than Biden to be the Democratic presidential candidate in the general election.

Nah, to invite Ken is to know he’ll do things like this on purpose because it tilts people 😂
