Yes to paraphrase Bill Gates we often overestimate what can happen in two years & underestimate what can happen in ten. China definitely takes a long view whereas the USA vision is blurred at best while the rest of us seem to be just waiting/reacting. Senior politicians need to breathe/take up yoga?

You came up on my popular with friends feed in BlueSky. I too worked in #Brussels (last century) but have decamped to Scotland, which has an ok rail network but needs more. Scottish Government has introduced 3 new rural train lines since devolution, nationalised rail & it’s getting better.

I read it slowly as I found it so heartbreakingly harrowing. You are a wonderful writer but I have told my daughter not to read it until she is in her 30s. She met an older woman who was reading it in a cafe and they got chatting about it.The woman told her the same thing, to wait awhile.

Samuel L. Jackson stars in a new Vattenfall ad for wind power, countering Trump's nonsense tirades against "windmills".
Motherfucking wind farms…

I am too old to waste time on things that don’t warrant it. I keep recalculating the likely number of books/reading time I have left, saves me from any guilt about DNF’ing. Try to limit time on social media too then I come across someone thoughtful like @unauthorizedpoet.bsky.social so it’s worth it

Watching #TdF on tv atm and the weather in that part of #France is very similar to #Scotland’s today. Feeling #European .

Only been to #NYC a couple of times but the size of vehicles was noticeable & the resulting size of potholes they create in a city with such a great cheap public transport infrastructure & cabs was ridiculous. I like the LEZ policy in UK cities. #London air quality/child asthma much better now too.

Yeah right because the UK famously don’t appreciate music, good, bad or indifferent, that is ‘anti establishment’. In 30 years time they accept knighthoods &/or do adverts for margarine. There are bigger fish to fry. If ‘Singing’ is how they express their hate, could be worse.

Ffs this country drives me mad. Don’t they remember the madness of the past several Tory PMs,Brexit, the chaos from Truss’s mini budget. What a blooming mess the Govt is dealing with along w/ #MadUSA, feeble NATO,Israel/Gaza,Iran
+Reform idiots banging on about boats when they stopped EU cooperation
