Leer tellen #crooks

Remember how I wrote about Brussels going broke? Yeah, meanwhile S&P has lowered their rating, expecting the BXL government to get their act together after the June :24 elections. Meanwhile, there's still no government in the capital or Europe and their debt rate is about to hit +200%. Wild stuff

@dancarlin.bsky.social so you've often commented on how empires rise and fall over long cycles that tend to go very fast at inflection points. Given how the rate of change is speeding up a lot, wouldn't this be a perfect time to do a Common Sense episode, even if it's under protest?

Unfortunately, the first of my silly predictions for 2025 has already come to pass: climate disasters are claiming ever more time and resources...
2025: Silly predictions
End of year lists are ridiculous and silly. And if there's one thing I've learned from John Cleese, is that we could all do with being a bit more silly.

But let's all keep on pretending mitigation is feasible. We don't even manage to acknowledge the problem, let alone have a plan of action to tackle it. Meanwhile, we've crossed 1.5°C and the reality is that disasters are our new reality. Adoption will be slow and I see very few mitigation efforts.
