I was in a very similar place with the Danger in My Heart anime from last year. I like the series. I think it’s good, but I hear people calling the best romance anime, and I just disagree. But I don’t know how to talk about it without making it sound like I dislike it.

Oh, I recommend so much. It does deal with some intense topics, but I think it always find a way to balance everything out

It’s about a teenage shogi prodigy, as he tries figure out life after a traumatic childhood. It’s one of the most tender, kind, and warm series I’ve ever watched, and deals with so many themes that I relate to personally, that it feels like it was made for me. I could rant forever about it.
