Not only that, it is always the late bloomers who end up having the highest ceilings. Playing at a skill (or physical) disadvantage is a hell of a way to end up better than the other kids when you power through or hit your growth spurt.

You also might drop the sport, but most do anyway.

Once people post a photo of books and get the social credit for their intent to read them, they NEVER actually read them.

Prove me wrong with a reply when you do!

That’s a great analogy. For me the difference between a human mountaineering memoir and an AI one is that the human one reflects a person I can have a relationship with. Even if they’re long dead, I might idolize them.

Where the AI is the distillation of many such tagged and organized accounts.

At first I thought I meant the things it tells you if you ask it to show its thought process, and all the work that went into the technology, and all the massive power consumption in making the art.

But yes, that does reduce to a worldview where work = buckets of water lifted by a steam engine

I like this, but I think it is the seductive lie. By any reasonable definition, AI does much more work in creating than any human.

The value I find in my art is its ability to create, strengthen, and mend relationships.

AI doesn’t threaten me, because my loved ones love me

Cmon, no one updates their capex models until after earnings. If they even model it.

Probably just noise but I do wonder if emphasis on biomedical sciences and veterinary medicine could have made RFK alienating in 2024 in particular?

It’s religion — and I mean literally. That’s why it’s called “Ark.” Bill Hwang was the same way. You can raise a lot of money from Christian endowments and some of the people who do time it right and get lucky and famous and believe they are chosen by God.

The crazy thing is Odd Lots having her on

If you don’t put numbers behind what “priced in” means to you, you’re just waving your hands around or talking your book.

Why do Millennials all think P/E should be structurally higher than the last hundred years? Just ZIRP mindset, or an unexamined faith that the US boom 1945-present has to continue by natural law for some reason?

Des Moines INTERNATIONAL Airport!

They did a great job with the renovations. It’s a shame how much the rest of the city has lost what made it special, but time marches on.

See THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE THUNDERBOLT KID by Bill Bryson. Fantastic read/listen about old DSM.

That’s not how valuations work. Apple market cap is ~5x Tesla.

Reasonably priced on what measure? CAPE? Earnings yield? PE? Those all look historically expensive to me.
