There's a distinction between "eventually the machine will win" which I think is probably correct and "eventually this technology that is being advanced right now will win" which is just not true. The machine which will supplant/transform art in that way hasn't been made yet.

You can already see it, seemed like they took every opportunity in this movie they could to close windows, go inside and generally make sure it looked like it was shot in a hotel conference center.

For a long time I only read paper books to model it for my kiddo (ebook just looks like a screen) and yeah for like a couple months I was way slower than the ebook but now I can switch back and forth.

The problem is your job *can't* be automated, at least not by anything that operates as the current LLMs do. The assertion which companies are making is "something which does at best 10% of what you're used to will be good enough for you & you won't notice or object to the difference"

It's all gonna be twinkly so ymmv but he doesn't hit his stride until later. "The Truth" or "Pyramids" for a book where everything is working & moving the right way, "Going Postal" for the height of his powers. I came to them late & don't read books like that typically but he 1000% has it.

The problem with that is it really relies on the AI tools becoming something absolutely different than they are right now, and pretty quickly. As it stands, the LLMs just aren't going to be of use to that kid.
