I am an actual person posting and such manually, I just don't really talk.

I'm mostly here to further progressive Christian voices and other causes I like on here.
I don't have an opinion on the health side of it, but if people are criticizing the awful company that owns RoundUp I'm not going to stop them.

Pacifism gives many options other than inaction, especially in this age.

I think one of MAGA's games is trying to redefine things by "liking" them on their terms or claim them (like how they talk about MLK), to make some non-MAGA voluntarily stop using/liking it and divide them with any who do.

They should have done a lot more, but they definitely, especially once Nazis stopped being discreet, made more effort against them for.

Right off the bat they repeatedly told them to stop using euthanasia.

Many clergy were killed by Nazis for speaking against them.

What are you talking about?

I definitely think that knowing only a bit about what early Christians went through I would never use a position of representing Christians to compare someone more known for politics who was paid for his work to him.

My experiences are honestly pretty similar. Like a handful of times in a "Catholic setting" have I heard anyone say anything really conservative, and I might even say the priests I've met and heard, if you were to label them, have come across as liberal to me most of the time.

They identified as Catholics, but it was played up. Obviously they against many central teachings. They also killed many priests, there's reports Hitler criticised Christianity behind the scenes, and many Nazi leaders hated Christianity for it's relation to Judaism and replacing German paganism.

At one point they smuggled an encyclical condemning a ton of Nazi ideology to be read in churches throughout Germany.

And that was for an organization which headquarters was surrounded by Mussolini Italy.

I don't know if I can say the same, many Catholic laypeople at least favored Trump and recent surge of young men joining just to be countercultural definitely view Trump favorably.

But yeah, they absolutely do not have the authority or size to decide saints (especially since Kirk was protestant).

I mean, as wrong as what he said is, the Catholic church is a worldwide organization with a lot of things on it's desk. When one of many leaders says something wrong but not using their church capacity and not creating much of an urgent issue, then even if they did do much it might set a precedent.

How is "gold cathedral" part of this complaint? They can't just bulldoze some of the most historically significant buildings in the world, which also the Church paid for a while ago and likely hundreds of millions have been able to enjoy.

If possible it is better to have the Washington Post fact checking as a last resort or to get the information without reading the article yourself because it is owned by Jeff Bezos.
