I’m at an undisclosed location having a ranch water, listening to the Cramps and putting the finishing touches on “la persistència del temps perdut.”
Once I get a clear coat on it, it’ll be for sale, $20 (plus shipping) with all $20 going to local mutual aid groups.

It’s been another sloooow morning at the shop (*sigh*), but it does mean I’ve had time to work on one of the tiny paintings I’ll be selling to raise money for local mutual aid groups and food pantries.
Progress shot of “la persistència del temps perdut” with a quarter for scale.

Planning out paintings for some scrapwood I’ve got.
These will be about 2.5x3” or so.
Once they’re done, I’ll put them up for sale here and on instagram, with all the money (minus postage) going to local mutual aid orgs and food pantries.

I’m calling my tree for the Canopy Art Center show done and varnishing it!
Come see it, and trees from dozens and dozens of other amazing artists at Canopy in OKC’s District for the opening Thursday night, Live on the Plaza Friday night, or the Plaza District Festival on Sept 27 from noon to 11.

Yesterday:

I’d love to say that I attended to pressing matters, but mostly I just zoned out and drew.

Nine (9!) years ago I did a run of 15 of these Devil Dino screen printed posters in honor of Jack Kirby.
They’re long gone, but I still like the image.

Happy birthday, Jack.

It’s been a slow day & I had some tedious work to do, so I’ve been listening to Fishmans all morning.
I kept zoning out & imagining I was in a club watching an amazing band made up of robots fronted by a muppet that was sorta Georgia Hubley by way of Justine Frischmann.
I want to live in that club.

So much death and suffering and cruelty going on, and all I do is sit here in my book hovel and paint this little tree.

Having a real “throw the country A-K rack out on the street and go work at a Virgin Megastore and never come back” day, so I took an art break.

Still questioning my life choices, but at least now I have another posca on book cover drawing.

You know when you have an idea, something new and you try to get it out onto paper?
I think I figured it out, I think it’s replicable, and I think I can keep refining it.
I’m not always good at getting tools to do what I have in my head, so this feels good.

Even if I forgot the teeth.

When brain gives a day of heavy dissociation, ground by copying Herriman.
Mostly Krazy Kat, a little bit of Archy and Mehitabel.
