I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

Libraries are a vital public resource and a radically progressive idea. No wonder they are a target.
Okay, I’m hoping this will gain some traction on Bluesky *inhales* SALEM PUBLIC LIBRARY IN OREGON IS IN DANGER OF CLOSING. This sets a dangerous precedent for state capital libraries!!

This is a continuation of the saga from last year, when we were saved at the last second by the then-mayor. (1/2)

Every so often I think of the path not taken. Where would we be on environmental policy if Gore or Kerry had won? On the ERA and health care if Clinton had won? 5 years ago I knocked doors for a Warren/Abrams dream ticket. Can you imagine? I want something that awesome for this place.

Right out of the gate they are detaining U.S. citizens and saying their “papers”are fake. It was always a lie.

The past several days have proven without a shadow of a doubt that Project 2025 is real and underway.

And those who warned America about it were right.

Great gameplan for getting through this year, and the next four. Thanks Heather Cox Richardson @hcrichardson.bsky.social
Sunday’s Zoom with @hcrichardson.bsky.social was full of wisdom on how to navigate 2025—focus on what you can control, find your people, and never stop learning. So, what’s your game plan to make it through the year?

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

Good morning. You are still here. Do something kind for someone you love today--and if you can, for someone else in your community, even if they're a stranger. We're in this together. ❤️

No executive order has the power or the right to tell you who you are. F*ck that noise. Surround yourself with love, and when you’re ready, get back in this fight.

We need you. 🫶🏽

Starting around age 12, I would get called a bitch an average of about once a week. Classmates, colleagues, bosses, teachers, and especially, strangers on the street were obliged to let me know. Shout out to #suffs for articulating this phenomenon so well and for the dope merch.
