The work that you and the Mayfields are doing to draw attention to how parenting practices determine how entire generations look at & interact with the world is so vital. As someone who grew up in it, it means a great deal to me that y’all are shedding light on it.

I think the discussion of parenting and the way the culture is saturated in violence is THE most important part of the book. The cultural violence of this kind of Christianity explains so much about our political climate & doesn’t get nearly enough attention.

Finding that line between informing myself about things I need to know and the bad marinating...it's hard! Different people draw it different places! Thankfully, I have gotten better over the last few years at knowing where I need to draw it for me.

Marinating myself in it will not help me.
