I recognize that monster: that's my neighbor Totoro's half-brother (maybe or so he told me?) who lives in the tool shed in Totoro's backyard most of the year. Sometimes he waves hello but he always looks grumpy, and he wears fuzzy slippers everywhere. Met him.

...actually, correcting myself: the rest of the card, in Yiddish, GooberTransgate came close to it. And yeah, the OP's card does seem to be a poem from the woman imploring the old man to sink faster! My Aleph-Bet is rusty though.
