Absol is Kai's partner! They met years ago on Mt. Coronet. Kai found her badly wounded, earned her trust, and nursed her back to health. They've been inseparable ever since. Kai met Brie as an Eevee outside Turffield in Galar. She came running up him, happily chirping away, and started playfully nibbling at his pant legs. He took her along with him and always made time to play with her. She loves cheese more than anything! She was a little smaller than most eevee so he looked after her extra carefully. After she evolved into an Umbreon, she became very protective of him. If you want to get close to Kai you have to go through her. Bean is Brie’s twin sister! She's everyone's best friend and the happiest Pokémon ever. Bean was found in a hastily dug den not far from Turffield, curled up and napping. When she heard Brie, she came barreling out, and Kai when saw how they played together, he took Bean with him, too. Bean is a food motivated little gremlin and her name came when she evolved. She was sneaking food from a tin of beans in Kai's pack (again) and bumped into an ice stone! Syf (short for Mr. Steal Your Fries) was a Fletchling when Kai first came to Kalos. He and Absol were eating a plate of fries and this bold little bird swooped in, stole a fry, perched on Absol's horn and ate it. He insisted on following Kai, and eventually became part of the team. He filled a vital typing gap in Kai's team and was instrumental in helping him defeat Korrina and earn his mega evolution keystone.

Kai has 2 shiny eeevee, they're twin sisters, an umbreon named Brie and a glaceon named Bean. Originally they were caught in gen 8, both girls! Since then I have hunted a pair in every game, but I haven't been able to recreate the dumb luck.

Half the hunt is done!

Kai and Izzy went to the special Hisui exhibit in the Luimiose Museum!

Kai got to see some relics from his home region, and Izzy learned a bit about Sinnoh's ancient history.

(And she got to snap a lot of photos of Kai)
