A three section aluminum dock frozen into the ice. The section farthest from the land is nearly vertical, having been pushed inwards by moving ice sheets. The next section angles back down towards the lake where it meets the first section askew, having been torn from one of its connection points. The final section has its legs all bent up underneath. A wooden platform extends towards the aluminum from the actual land, mostly not in the water and not damaged. Red chairs line the fence behind. A brown-tarp-covered stack of dock pieces is visible in the neighbor's land.

Long afternoon shadows on a winter ride

A deep cardboard box (can't really see but it's about 24 inches tall) which is open at the top. The other dimensions are about 18 by 6 inches. A gray tabby cat looks up at the camera from the bottom of the box, which is a good fit side-to-side.

Why is one of the buttons red? On the other three elevators the right-hand 6 is lit in green. On all of the elevators all of the buttons are lit in green. It's just this one. Red right returning?

#gooddeedfortoday : after checking out from the airbnb, I found a local homeless person and asked if they wanted any food. They said yes and I gifted them with partially used containers of milk, cheese, yogurt, and bar of soap. Much appreciated and better than having the airbnb host throw it out.

I went to a coordinated #signsoffascism activism thing in a nearby town organized by the local #Indivisible chapter. Just 15 or so people spread out along the road.

A crowd of people, most of them holding protest signs for "no kings". The crowd extends into the distance, where you can see trees and Boston skyline behind them, below a crystal-clear blue sky. Some people are wearing short sleeves, but most have some kind of light outerwear.

A Dutch door with the top half open. The bottom half is dark stained wood with some coats hanging from hooks. The open half (the other side of the door) is painted white (you can't see very much of it) as is the surrounding trim. There is a tabby cat sitting in the opening. Through the open top half-door you can see the top half of another door, also dark stained wood surrounded by white painted trim, with an oval cut glass window, and a lamp (turned off) hanging from the ceiling. It is brass with some cut glass patterning.

A very sturdily built table with a single drawer under the top, and a shelf running near the floor level. On top is a pile of junk including clothing and a red AT&T old-style phone (touch tone, not rotary, though.) On the bottom shelf is a backpack and a couple of pillows and a tortoiseshell cat, seated in profile, with head turned torwards the camera. Underneath is some incomprehensible junk. On the right is a small bookcase with paperback books and a colorful bag with a pattern including foliage and cherries.
