"It most certainly is not legally binding. By any definition of the term." a heavy set frown settled on his face. There was certainly no lie hidden in the words.

"That's extortion, at best, and a slew of other things at worst."

“Huh?” He felt his face viscerally react to the knowledge, his face turned in Dex’s direction. Well, that was… interesting.

“Vanessa ordered it?” He repeated it back, almost for his own benefit. As though he needed confirmation that he’d heard the words correctly.

“It’s crossed my mind once or twice but I made my own assumptions.” He shrugged, trying to force the cresting rage that suddenly bubbled up from the depths of his memory.

“Why don’t you enlighten me with your own.”

Jarred from his thoughts, Matthew found himself surprised to hear Dex saying, out loud, a line of thought similar to the ones racing through his own mind. That one additional bit of information caught his attention though, one he hadn't heard tell of before.

"What did his wife do?"

Which simply meant :

He was stuck with this growling, agitated creature that was left prowling, bitter and on edge, around his home.

evidence to potentially shutting Fisk down. Finally removing that man from the public eye.

Fisk had become emboldened. Which made him even more dangerous than he had been before. He was in the public eye, and working to get people on his side.

He didn't like it. It needed to be stopped. //

Matt grunted as he closed the window, taking away the more obvious temptation at least. Being cooped up was never anyone's preference, and this situation was unique.

Frustrating.

For both of them, anyway. The sole thread holding it together the bitter reminder that Poindexter held the //

"No, you're not a prisoner... but you're here because you were. And do you really think running out, in broad daylight, is going to do you any favours right now? Be smarter than that."
May 31, 2025 at 3:20 AM
"Don't think your foot needs air." he was up at the window, very quickly, grabbing the other mans ankle and pulling it back in.

"Less you want me to send out another call to Frank... I'm certain he'd love to... hang out. Again."

His head lifted slowly as he heard the sound. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end as he put his coffee down on the counter.

So much for that.

"Don't you dare." he warned, poised to move quickly if need be.
May 30, 2025 at 8:46 PM
The latter being something he didn’t really want to deal with. Mostly because it would mean he’d have to drop his coffee in a hurry. Undoubtedly all over him.

Matt poured his coffee, listening as Dex moved closer toward the windows. A thin frown forming on his lips. Given the way he was acting it could go one of two ways.

Either he wound sate himself with the view of the … large neon sign, or he would make a break for it. //

"Mhmm." he shook his head, moving to the kitchen to find the coffee. He wasn't terribly certain what could be added to that.

There wasn't a lot. He couldn't exactly go running around freely outside, nor would Matt be comfortable allowing that at this point in time.

"Fair enough."
May 30, 2025 at 5:19 PM
He was quiet for a good while, listening for telltale sign of a fight to come. There didn't seem to be any, aside from the fact he was a wild animal being contained to a smaller space.

"Penny for your thoughts." Less of a question, more something to bring his attention around.
May 29, 2025 at 10:11 PM
No. Not even a bit of that.

He could hear the sound of Dex’s feet tapping across the floor as he paced. Tilting his head he arched his brow, trying to determine if he was panicking or if it was something else. Everything was always so tentative with the former FBI agent.

For the love of.

No. None of that.
May 29, 2025 at 3:59 PM
Sure he did.

If that helps him sleep at night.
May 29, 2025 at 3:54 PM
“That’s what I thought.” Shaking his head, he moved to take a seat. Patience was a virtue, of which he generally had very little.

In this instance it was more about knowing there was no way the other man could let it stay on the ground.

“You can pick that up.”
