The latter

Honestly need both. From a squad planning standpoint especially. The age range between them lends to adding both, along with the fact that Gomez and Bradley have not proven they can stay healthy.

They need to sort Guehi and Leoni out ASAP
August 9, 2025 at 6:06 PM
This is not the way
August 9, 2025 at 3:34 PM
Are we really keeping three LBs that can only play LB
July 26, 2025 at 8:40 PM
23/24 is pretty clearly the outlier though in terms of availability
May 9, 2025 at 2:54 PM
No it isn’t. Heck we bought Mo when we have Mane at RW. Kind if weird to say “starter” or “#1” too. No one is saying buy an upgrade on Van Dijk. But it’s not insane to think bad injury luck at a position group can derail things. We’ve seen this happen
May 9, 2025 at 2:52 PM
It matters when you keep having to count on Joe Gomez to stay healthy.
May 9, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Of course - but the bar is very high as defending league champions. That makes the necessary growing pains a lot less tolerable. Fact is we haven’t bought a defender since 2021, we are losing at least one, and the internal options all are injury prone. They need to raise the level of that group.

I think we need to get CJ back into midfield. He did fine enough, but it’s a big difference between him and Bradley
April 7, 2025 at 6:03 PM
I think getting a real RB back in there will help a lot; CB makes a big difference compared to CJ and JQ. IK does not look right at all. Need to start playing the guys with legs left to close this out. Also would bin Salah and Diogo starting together. Salah can’t make space with Diogo up front
April 7, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Good list but I would simply not be eliminating the LW options. Way too much evidence of us being interested in that position (Kvara/Gordon/etc) over the last 12 months to dismiss it as not a need
April 3, 2025 at 6:10 PM
Again, that’s waiting for dominos. I don’t want to wait for dominos. LFC need to be proactive, not reactive. There is no excuse for not having a very clear idea who they want, and a very clear idea how to do so. We need to be executing like we did on the Fabinho transfer
March 27, 2025 at 6:38 PM
I don’t like having to rely on dominos to fall. He also doesn’t start for us either. It’s a weird one. PSG I don’t think really are trying to sell their young French guys either. They have no reason to
March 27, 2025 at 6:02 PM
PSG doesn’t need to sacrifice Zaire-Emery to get Konate. They aren’t going to do us a favor
March 27, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Just like Trent
March 27, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Bit late to realize he ain’t coming
March 27, 2025 at 1:48 AM
I would as well but I don’t think Konate is going to re-sign/I don’t think there is any evidence this will go any easier than the others. I fact it might be harder based on how this summer goes. There’s no reason to count on these guys staying and they may want to actually get a transfer fee here
March 27, 2025 at 1:48 AM
I have a weird feeling we are going to sell Konate. Going to need to feed the net spend gods and we’ve been grinding him into dust this season. Maybe the plan was to sell Konate and bring Huijsen in at some point but always seemed like too many dominos needed to fall
March 26, 2025 at 11:56 PM
Welcome to the party! Even if you a bit late. :)
March 26, 2025 at 11:54 PM
People scoffed when I said this a month ago
March 26, 2025 at 10:47 PM
Quansah will sit on the bench. Huijsen won’t. Also would not even think of selling Quansah until we know Virgil and Konate are back
March 26, 2025 at 9:25 PM
Right, but you wouldn’t bug another Darwin type to play with Salah, but if Salah goes to wouldn’t buy an…anti-Darwin type? (For lack of better words). I’m sure we will add a striker, we probably should add two. But the profile needed is going to be vastly different if Salah stays or not
March 26, 2025 at 8:32 PM
Honestly there is no use looking at strikers until we know if Salah is staying or not
March 26, 2025 at 8:05 PM
You talking about the right Fofana, mate?
