I just like thinking out loud.
I wasn’t aware of that. And if film criticism is actually rigged, I genuinely don’t know where we’re heading as a society.

I severely doubt that it’s coming out tomorrow, but I’m confident that we’re getting one next week. 🤞

One of the only directors who doesn’t have an apparent voice. He does all kinds of films, and that’s why I have immense respect for him.

Underrated.

I just feel like he’s one of those contrarians who nitpicks blockbuster or populist cinema. Half of his picks this year are movies nobody really cares about, though he does have some interesting choices here and there.

I think the reason they’re doing “countdowns” and “announcements” is to make these trailers feel like an event. It’s an interesting marketing idea, BUT the DCU hasn’t reached that point where its trailers feel like events, in my opinion. They are still just trailers…

I feel like they’re overdoing it at this point, but the Superman trailers weren’t awful, so I still have faith in this movie and its marketing.

True. Well, if you throw enough spaghetti at the wall, some of it is bound to stick. In actuality though, Netflix movies are simply not ‘movies,’ in my opinion. But hey, that’s just me.

Abraham Lincoln said that an “electric cord” connects all our waves of immigrant generations to the founding principles of human equality and republican government. Commitment to these principles, not blood and soil, makes people Americans. www.uvu.edu/ccs/docs/lin...

4) “Movies are dead, they remain dead and we have killed them”. But I would still choose to be optimistic.

3) .. Or One Battle After Another getting made, because they don’t believe in movies with the potential for cultural impact, they believe in numbers that place their company in a lucrative position. Their company wouldn’t be worth $450 billion if they operated like legacy studios do.

2) Netflix also isn’t your traditional studio. It’s a content creating company that is obsessed with analytics. That’s exactly why we see shows getting randomly canceled and movies with insane budget being randomly green-lit because to them, ‘art’ is analytical. You would have never seen “Sinners”..
