I love video games, anime & manga

I don't do follow backs. Twitter is a cesspool, Politics is cancer.
Yeah I suppose you're right.

Might watch Alien first since that's shorter then go and watch Wano. I've already seen a decent amount anyway but it was still airing at the time.

Gonna have to start from the beginning.

TLOU2 is a great game but it requires commitment to its story. Skipping cutscenes only goes so far as a few are unskippable and the game involve a lot of slow walking for exposition purposes. It can be quite agonising when you just wanna move on. Pacing is not its strongest suit.

Forcing me to play as Abby the first time around and seeing her perspective did allow me to understand her but it was not enough to make me care thus I couldn't bring myself to continue playing as her for a 2nd time.

So I dropped it 🤷

Still despite that. I couldn't finish the game this time.

Just like 5 years ago, Abby's section failed to pique my interest. Ellie's blood thirsty quest for revenge matched my personal distaste for the WLF. I wanted to hunt them down and that made it so engaging.

Now when it comes to the actors? MAN! They put on such an INCREDIBLE performance. Honestly they're partially why I even bothered to continue Abby's section 1st time around. Of course the cutscenes are very well directed too so that helps.

I will say one thing though. I like Jesse and Dina but they just don't receive the same care and development as Abby and her friends do which makes it both frustrating and sad because of how little I care for Abby and her friends and they have a LOT of screen time. It sucks.

The story is it's weakest aspect. Its just compounded by issues both big and small. I won't be going into it though since I've already done so multiple times these past 5 years. Needless to say, I just can't see what fans see in it and I probably never will.

The animation quality on top of that and how it all flows so seamlessly together makes these encounters feel real and cinematic. At times you would feel like John Wick while at other times you're Sam Fisher. It's great stuff.

Once discovered it can be pretty tense as enemies alert their allies and come at you from all sides trying to flank you. Forcing you to find cover and take em out that way or to break the line of sight and pick em off quietly.

Even the gameplay is fun with great level design, huge open spaces and good ai that would keep you on your toes while they pursue you. Enemies can be a little unpredictable in their patrol patterns and would sometimes look behind to catch you out, keeping encounters tense.

TLOU2 (replay).

Even now 5 years later, TLOU2 is a technical masterpiece. A beautifully crafted adventure with insane attention to detail, incredible sound design and breathtaking visuals.

Naughty Dog are technical wizards.

They even outright changed a character who is SO much cooler in the book. I don't understand their decisions here.

Even if I didn't know about some of the details in the books, something just felt off anyway and it just doesn't match S1's quality.

I gave up after Episode 5

Silo Season 2

What a let down.

Pacing off, writing downgraded, not enough focus on Juliet.

Weird narrative decisions and weird deviations from the books. Like I only heard a few things from the books but that was enough to make me question the changes.

Tweet 1/2

S1 was the mystery and S2 was the big reveal yet there ate still unanswered questions. Despite that, I don't think there's THAT much left to reveal. So I don't see this longer than 1 or more seasons, depending on how much more to tell

I just hope they don't drag it out

Severance Season 2

They set the bar pretty high with season 1 and they could've easily messed it up and not delivered but they damn sure did.

Just like S1, this season had me hooked from beginning to end and I loved every moment.

Severance S1 (Rewatch)

Brilliant season and just as good as it was 3 years ago. The slow build up to a mind blowing cliffhanger still had me in a chokehold

Luckily the 2nd season was already out during this 2nd viewing so I didn't have to wait another 3 agonising years to continue the story.

The To Be Continued bit got me curious tho. I wonder what a direct follow-up to this would be like.

If it's another pirate adventure then they have serious improvements to be made.

Hopefully it's more traditional Yakuza stuff. I'd rather go back to that if they can't improve it

Like A Pirate

The first 3 chapters were dumb fun but the last 2 chapters were a disappointing mixed bag.

Weakest story in the series, weakest cast of characters. Just meh.

I don't regret playing but man it could've been SO much more

Post credit scene was nice tho.

Invincible Season 3

Oh man! This was such a good season. Doesn't top S1 but it's SO much better than S2 in every way.

Honestly don't have any complaints. Really enjoyed this season and I want more.

I do hope S4 has a more focused storyline like S1 tho. That's all I ask for.

The Boys S4

Long story short. I gave up after 2-3 episodes.

Writing and pacing is all over the place, an egregious amount of focus on politics that it just gets in the way of everything, dumb changes to certain characters, Homelander feels dumbed down.

It's shit.

Gen V

This was alright

Started off seemingly as a generic teen high school drama with super powers but soon became more interesting later

However without its connection to The Boys I wouldn't care much

The ending was interesting enough to get me curious for Season 2 tho.
