Do we have a general idea when version 4 is likely to be released? I mean on the scale of Ubuntu, Debian, or GIMP v3? ;-) Just curious; it's looking great and long overdue for the pre-eminent audio editor for Linux, at least among non-high-end professionals.

@adamkinzinger.substack.com How many times did you have to shoot that backwards nothing-but-can hat toss? Impressive none the less!

It's worded as “sells, delivers, furnishes, disseminates, provides, exhibits, or presents any material or performance that is obscene or harmful to juveniles", which is vague enough to apply to any website which accepts user submissions, really. This could mean YouTube, social media, or forums.

Ohio.

I am doing none of it. I refuse to hand over any identity verification stuff to some sketchy 3rd party ID verifier who will inevitably accidentally release it or abuse it. What I will do is reach out to my state representative and complain.

There is one which took effect today.

My understanding is that MS requires the company/website/app to do their own age verification and hold onto copies of the identity documents, leading to an egregious privacy nightmare. Ohio's law allows for deletion of identity documents once verification is processed.

All of us, and some folks not in Ohio... Any site with actual adult content or could be perceived to have mature content is potentially subject to fines. Bluesky is doing what they have to do. What Ohio residents need to do is to reach out to their state reps and object to them.

Yell at the Ohio legislature that passed this provision in the insanity that is thus year's budget bill. I am going to resch out to mine.

Same problem here, although not for business, but just as annoyed and frustrated.

Please add more detail to your story or provide additional reporting about the follow-on effects of these laws. Our speech and content shouldn't be censored arbitrarily or gated by handing over private information.

Doubly troubling is that the age verification system being used by Bluesky is run by Epic Games who is itself in a bad to be bought by Jared Kushner and a Saudi Arabian financial fund. And this is one of the less sketchy ID verification platforms.
October 1, 2025 at 1:42 AM
Yeah, not just age verification for adult content websites. Bluesky requires age verification to be able to access DMs. I don't really feel like turning over my ID to some random 3rd party platform to access features here.

Looks like they have switched to using "ckdf.org" with only a single email address, rather than using a website. The domain is registered with Namecheap.

Looks like the same IP addresses are used for both sites, and both from Amazon AWS.

Props also to a person who uses the only correct time and date settings, YYYY-MM-dd and 24hr time. ;-)

Very much the same here... It's even enough to the point that Scott Galloway is right on the verge of being too much. He's rightly identified problems with wealth inequality, but his views on "manliness" are just at the edge of my comfort with toxicity.

Just found this interview and really appreciate your positions. We are in DESPERATE need for something fresh, new, and down to earth in Ohio. Fellow Buckeye here, and you are 100% spot on with your approach.

Absolutely sickening... Had to counter a distant family member making a joke about folks being eaten by alligators at a family gathering last night. His rationale was that is was OK because they were illegal... My stance is that regardless of legality, they're human beings and not to be tortured.

A sprinkling of Docker with Portal error, a smidgen of Podman, and a whole lot of non-containerized services, as that's generally my preference.

I am so happy for you to have competent representation... This Buckeye is (mis)represented by Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno, pinnacles of strength of character...
