Kids should spend time outdoors and learn proper safety as needed to do so.

thank you it was definitely eye opening and after that he wasn't allowed off the property during deer season (but he still did anyways wearing an orange vest)

I see the same idea being shared by those who grew up latchkey in 'rural' areas saying its safer. My brother was shot at by hunters in the woods. Almost injured himself greatly on multi occasions. And he was considered careful.
Its surviorship bias at its fullest. Kids died from this mindset.
