There is only one thing worse than not posting a letter a a PO branch where the stamps will be nicely cancelled, and that is receiving one where the stamps have been obliterated by Royal Mail.(Ian Billings, Norvic Philatelics).

Royal Mail's miniature sheets of #stamps are printed in larger sheets called Press Sheets (ie off the press) & then cut to size. Makes sense: but why is there an extra set of perforations in the top (and maybe bottom) margin?

Many Post Office counter staff are also very patient when I'm posting letters over the counter to ensure a good cancellation.
This dates from when they were mainly pen-cancelled if you posted them in a box. Yes, the latest one did get the m/c postmark, but many earlier ones didn't; see pics 2-4

Well this has screwed any private #stamp sales on #eBay_UK
Collectors like to use stamps on letters, no chance now for private sellers. No stamps, label only, RoyalMail or Evri, & all tracked. That'll please Postal delivery workers (NOT). (Business sellers are unaffected.)
