60.00 was for a decent copy of New Gods #1. Kinda made sure first issues were the best, and other copies were in G to VG condition. Not paying for anything near mint.

That’s why, when I go to places like Galactic Comics in Florence SC, or just shopping at stores during trips to and from visiting my gran, I tend to opt for good quality reader copies.
When I collected a few years ago, Kirby’s main DC and Marvel stuff, I never paid more than 60.00.
